Empowering Youth Through Digital Literacy & Tech Labs

EDUCATION  |  June 2026

In a world increasingly driven by technology, access to digital tools is no longer a luxury — it is a necessity. The FLMH Foundation's digital literacy program is bridging the gap for thousands of young people across the DRC, giving them the skills they need to compete in a global economy.

The Digital Divide in the DRC

Only 17% of the Congolese population has regular access to the internet. In rural areas, that number drops below 5%. Without digital skills, young people are locked out of remote work opportunities, online education, and the growing digital economy. Our tech labs are designed to change that reality.

What Our Tech Labs Offer

Each FLMH tech lab is equipped with computers, tablets, and a satellite internet connection. Students receive training in coding, graphic design, digital marketing, and office productivity tools. Courses are taught in both French and Lingala to ensure maximum accessibility. Since 2024, over 3,200 young people have graduated from our digital literacy program.

Real Stories, Real Change

Jean-Baptiste Moka, a graduate of our Science Program, recently received a full scholarship to a university in Europe — something he credits entirely to the digital skills he learned at an FLMH lab. Stories like his are why we continue to invest in the next generation of Congolese innovators.
